My friend picked up a 20 gauge Franchi autoloader. We can't get the barrel assembly on the darn thing. It looks like the barrel won't fit inside the forearm.
The manual has about 15 different languages. None of them are any help. Is that spring/ring thingy inside the forearm made to expand around the barrel?

Enquiring minds want to know. There are some squirrels about to meet their destiny in the morning.

How about a picture or two? Most auto loaders you put the barrel on first then the hand guard slides over the front.

Try leaving the bolt forward. The book says pull it to rear. The rest takes a bit of wiggling . There was at least one video on YouTube

Sometimes you just gotta slam them together.

do you get a gap about an eight of an inch between the receiver and barrel rib and can't screw the end cap on? My I12 does if I don't use some force to put them together.
