I talked to my son, a high school student, about walking out of class as a protest. His reply was, "if they see a chance to escape class they will do so."
This is what we are seeing, not a protest, just kids getting out of class without penalty. |

It was just on tv on CNN. No link, sorry. They said about 300 students and adults shut down a freeway, but CHP reported it was reopened.

They've been marching all day, and almost closed down the 101. FOX News has reported that not all of these 'students' are really students, and that 40+ year olds are marching, too.
Many of them are carrying the flag of Mexico.   HH |

It's highschool kids who have mainly organized this thing via myspace.com and cell phone text messages for Caesar Chavez day. For those not in the area the weather is partly sunny and about 72 degrees - perfect weather for a stroll and not attending school.

I'm not sure many people would notice if freeways in the LA area were shut down.
