My wife got him about 9 years ago (way before we were married), he's a little black pomeranian.

He ran off Wednesday afternoon. We looked around all over the place, put up signs, etc. After 24 hours, because he's small and there are large owls, hawks, foxes, and other unleashed large dogs in our neighborhood (we live near a wooded area) we figured he probably was dead.

He's sort of my wife's dog but since I've been living with her/him for about a year I've gotten a little attached to him. I didn't realize how much I was until he ran away.

This morning a guy calls and says he's got a black fur ball running around his yard. We go over and it's him.

Now he's sitting at my feet near the couch all muddy and dirty but as happy as I've ever seen him.

That happened to my wife's dog when I was deployed.  I felt pretty helpless but I did a lot of praying.  The cool thing was, I was getting ready for bed one night and I went to bed and then felt the need to get on my knees right then and pray again that Sandy would be found.  I prayed and then felt I needed to go back into my office and see if my wife emailed me.  Very strange feeling.  So, I got dressed, walked back to my desk and my wife had emailed me and all she said was "I have Sandy!!!".  Course, I started crying at that point and called her on her cell phone.  She answered and I told her what happened and she was bawling right along with me.  The nearest I can tell, she found her right at the same time I was on my knees praying.  Halfway around the world.  Pretty cool!

Glad you found your dog!

Congrats man. I had 2 Bernese Mountain Retards that chased a deer one day. I ended up finding them later. The stupid fucks were about 4 miles in a straight line away. I was a fucking mess until I found them. We lived in Colorado and all I could think was that coyotes, bears or some other something had gotten to them.
