Man, that Tech slow down hit me hard. I worked for a consulting firm and did very little for over a year. Couple days here, couple days there, and one assignments lasted a couple months over that 18 month time. About 80% bench time overall. Then, the inevitable happened. I got laid off. That was 5 months ago. But, I am happy to say, that I finally found a job!!! Met with the Pres. of a local college today and made it click! Told him how I could help him with his quality initiative. Hmmm. Now I'm thinking I should go into sales! [:D]

I too was down at the Sheriff's department today signing up with payroll!~  It was a long time going through the process to get hired with them, the tests, the interviews, the background, the voice stress analyzer, then finally the wiz quiz and hearing test.  I first applied almost 7 months ago!!!

I too was in the tech field and had yet to even get a damned interview!~!!!  This job is as a Sheriff's support specialist working in central control/booking.  Still a civy job but it will pay the bills.  Oh man, the bills.
