He was playing golf yesterday and was hit by a badly driven ball from about 100 yds away

Ouch! Lucky it was the leg and not the head.

This just proves golf is unsafe. Ban it before a child is hurt. Ban it for the children. All those unsafe corses could be turned into parks where childen of all races could play together. Where endangered anamals could roam freely without the fear of being hunted.

Imagine if it hit him in the head

When I was young I mowed the green at my cousins country club. There was always some impatient a**hole that couldn't wait for me to finish mowing the green. I almost got hit more than once. From the first time on if a golfer hit the ball onto the green while I was mowing it I took the ball.

Got hit by a golfball once when shagging as a kid. Luckily it had hit the ground a couple of times and lost some velocity, but still left the entire back of my calf bruised for weeks afterward.
I was walking away from it and it skimmed the ground and then WHACK!........I was down for the count.

That one on the shin is gonna hurt for a looooong time.

I got hit with a baseball in the shin two weeks ago, I was pitching in a rough-league and didn't get the glove down fast enough. Looks just like it.

Looks like a bone bruise maybe. Wait about a week when the swelling goes down, his leg is going to be black and blue all underneath the impact area.

One of the most painful things you can ever have happen to you.

My friend got hit on the bicep by an errant shot. Half his arm turned a nasty shade of green and black. One of the worst bruises I've ever seen.

So i just got back from lunch with him....the whole calf area is wrapped with a light compression wrap - I dodn't ask him to take it off for a better look...but his lower leg/ankle/foot is badly swollen almost like when you get a bad ankle sprain.

He said the drive was a worm burner....never hit the ground. Hit him on the fly - line drive.

I mean, I managed to hit someone before...because somehow I managed to get a perfect swing and launched the ball which then hit the cart path a couple times and so my 3 wood shot turned into a 300+ yard shot that rolled into the group in front of us. No way I should have been able to reach them.

But a line drive from 100 yards! Come on!

oh, got the best part of the story at lunch....it was someone in his group! (two foursomes)

I know the guy that hit him, and he's a HORRBIBLE golfer. (goes without saying) It's amazing that he hit the ball 100 yds.
