Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Ford Explorer or Dodge Durango?

Which one? My lease is up and I'm looking to get something in 4WD. For the money I think I'm getting a better deal for the Explorer, but I kind of like the looks of the Durango. Any thoughts? Horror stories? I'm leaning towards the Explorer ('03) because it's available in a V6 and I really don't need crazy power and prefer better MPG.

Go with the Ford. I had a Dodge Ram 4x4 & my best friend had a Durango 4x4, both had nagging problems, mickey mouse shit.

IMO, the best one to get is a Toyota Four Runner. It's now available with a V8.

I have an 02 Explorer and have had problems, but then again mine was one of the first redesigned models off of the assembly line, I like both but have always had good luck with Fords. I did rent a V-8 Durango 4X4 for the BRC and it was NICE.

Neither get the Chevy Trailblazer. Their new I6 is awesome. 275 hp and its a 6!
