Or at least I thought it was a crisis 15 years ago. And I had to act on it. In 2001 I was driving a 3rd gen Toyota Supra Turbo (I had owned one of each generation before it and was already a die hard Supra fan) and it was a fantastic car. I called it the blue beast and it was so much fun and reliable as hell and we both took good care of each other. But I also wanted the 4th gen MKIV version (turned out to be the last one for Toyota) but just didn't know if I had enough scratch to buy one and at that time had only seen one locally (Jade Green) that was purchased new by a local doctor. It was a rare car. But in 2001 (I think) a stupid as hell movie came out called the Fast and The Furious and a friend told me me I should see it because it featured the MKIV and I saw it and thought well shit. There goes that plan. The movie was a big giant success (series still is) and I immediately decided I'd better get looking quick for one because every swinging dick teenage boy is gonna get their dads to buy them one and Toyota didn't make many of them. Well, it worked out for me in the end and I had to do battle with Dads all across the country to get one in original condition on Ebay of all places. And I had to go to St. Louis to get it (that was fun). The seller was the second owner and represented the car to about 95% correctly in his ad and what he missed was not a big deal to me (tires sucked) even if he did it on purpose. It was Ebay and you'll have that. The car was an exceptionally good and origianal TT and I trailered it home though I could have just driven it. And I've kept it stock ever since. It is still all stock except for a more modern and upgraded stereo system that is awesome. Last night our weather sucked and I walked out into the garage and smiled because it is all buttoned up for winter now and probably won't come back out until April or May and I thought what different car would I pick as my crises car? I couldn't think of one but I'd love to hear yours GD http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/4694/p1100009a.jpg View Quote You better keep that mark 4 untouched ones are going for 30k, that is a future classic |

I doubt a toyota supra counts as mid life. Get a porsche or ferrari.

I'm 36, and I fight myself to not buy a 71/72 Chevelle. I've come across a few running projects, but have so far stopped myself from doing it. I will someday.

I have a '94 6speed in white/black leather. It's just a BPU+ car with 68k miles on it.

And I'm currently having a 1/4 life crisis, but I have no money, currently waiting to have enough money for a last year of this new generation kia cadenza, or a last year of the up and coming kia gt.

My midlife crisis involve a horse at 52. It wasn't until after I had to put my horse down (RIP, Stormin' Norman) that I bought a Miata -- at 67.

Got my mid-life crisis car at age 24. Hope that doesn't mean I'll only live to be 48 http://i.imgur.com/nSvnqZn.jpg http://i.imgur.com/F2tuyz4.jpg View Quote I loved the CLK when it came out. I was ready to get one as a reward for a promotion but the back seat scared me away. Now, I have a C Class coupe and the "baby" is off at college. TC |

I'm 30 and wanting an older classic or a lotus exige, but I will settle for an Elise as they are closer to my budget. If I would stop buying guns I would already have one

36 and own a 2014 CTS-V. I think I'm going Porsche next. I like cars. Sadly they are too expensive. Haha

I'm 32... must be having one every few years
Current stable is a Supercharged Raptor and a BMW M4. |

I have had no mid-life crisis, as I have always done what I want, when I want. Married (wonderful wife) with no kids allows me freedom that others chase until they die.

I bought my first Corvette 4 years ago. A like new 2008 with 3,000 miles. I enjoyed it so much I bought a new 2015 C7 2 years ago. I'd love to have a Lamborghini but I don't have enough money. Besides, I don't think my new gold chains, Rolex watch, and open shirt to show off my chest hair would go with a Lamborghini.

My midife crisis will be losing my job next year.
OTOH, I won't have the money to decide what car I want |

Keep them coming guys! I'm not the only one YAY!
For me I didn't even know what gripped me exactly. But I knew my car and I knew I wanted to upgrade (made a wise choice) and although I thought the movie was kinda silly it was this scene that made me say it is time. The Fast and the Furious (2001) - Brian Races Dominic Scene (10/10) | Movieclips |

Mid life crisis?
What do we call it when you're young and want a Vette? Then as you get older and richer and can afford a 30 year dream. I'd call it a fulfillment of hard work and sacrifice. I'm 65 and just bought a WRX last year. I've always liked small, nimble cars. My previous car was a 2001 Eclipse, both manual transmissions. |
|
Awesome car. A friend in high school's dad had one that made 1000 to the tires back in '05 or so when that was a really big deal.
My midlife crisis car will probably be an 03/04 Cobra. Gotta get some other, more sensible stuff situated first. |

Mine was less of a crisis and more a realization that I could finally buy expensive things I didn't need. I still smile every time I walk into the garage and look at it. http://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/187084/79692.JPG View Quote |

It didn't really start as a mid life crisis, I had been just saving with the idea of getting something nice. Then right before I turned 50 I had a major bike wreck, and after 5 months of sitting on the couch this is what I came up with.... Attached File
