Go to the snopes.com Urban Legends website and check out "Rumors of War."
This "where's the plane?" line of inquiry is a hoax with a hint of French anti-Americanism to it. Too many people saw the plane come in, but because there's no video (like the WTC) it's open to this kind of speculation. |

Actually there was a video of the plane hitting the Pentagon. A security camera recorded it and parts of it were shown on all the news stations.

Yeah, that guy also says that the jets that crashed into the WTC were remote controlled by the US gov't because we all know suicide is against Moslem beliefs (haha). French people suck, end of story.

I sorry folks but I need to make some corrections in the tearms your using here.
As per Federal Order 1634.28 section F, subsection 126, chapter 58 paragraph 2: "The European people known untill this point as "the French" shall no longer be refered to in such a manner. Henceforth they are to be known in all official and unoffical communitactions as "Cheese Eating Surrender Monkeys" In additon the land mass of Europe where these people, The Cheese Eating Surrender Monkeys reside shall no longer be known as the pegorative, "France" but will be henceforth known as "RUNAWAY!!!!" Come on,
Take a look at the pics of the WTC before the collapse. Do you see the debris of any aircraft? What happened to the airplane pieces? If the jet fuel got hot enough to melt the "I" beams in the elevator shaft, that caused the building to collapse, do you honestly think that it was a different story at the Pentagon? Give me a break!!! Of course there was no real debris, it was obilterated and burned up!!! Oh, I know, the airplanes didn't really hit the WTC the videos are fake, and it was really a nut with a bomb strapped to him in the elevator shaft! Yeah, that's the ticket! And I think he used a mail cart to transport the bombs, yeah, yeah, that's it!!! WHATEVER!! |

They leave out facts that don't fit in their conspiracy theory. A good conspiracy theory accounts for all of those other facts.

I grew up in a small town just outside of Canada, in New Hampshire, that was made up predominantly of people of French descent, myself included. I had always been proud of my French heritage. Heck, my father even spoke French as his first language, as many people from his generation did in that area. After he came back from WWII, he was disullusioned with the French, saying a how much they were "cheese-eating surrender monkeys" (well, not his exact words, but that's a paraphrase).
I didn't believe him entirely until I met some French and our conversation eventually turned to politics. They said that the US were "fools" to allow guns in the country and that we were "stupid" for not having a socialist party run for the presidency. Not at all politely either, just real arrogantly! Well, it was all that I could do to not knock the frommage out of him! I haven't been able to be proud of being French since! |

duh.. a good adiabatic burn of jet fuel (aka kerosene) is well over 2500 deg F. Steel starts to lose strength at 700 deg F. And you don't melt it in a fire, it loses strength and fails. Then you get Euler buckling of columns or excessive deflection in beams and collapse, etc.... And there were tons of aircraft parts found at both sites. And bodies of confirmed passagers at both sites. And witnesses at both sites. And the website that started this thread is down so who cares...but the French do suck and so do the Israelis (I've been to both places). I was under the impression, if you will forgive my ignorance, that for an adiabatic burn to occur using kerosene it would require high speed compressed/forced air flow, not just spread out fuel burning in a room. Also, since that type of burn probably won't give you 700F, much less 700C, the idea of softening in surrounding beams becomes somewhat less likely I should think. Add to that that the fuel burned out rather rapidly, and so the steel was then able to cool, and you end up with a conundrum which has been written about and puzzled over in architectural periodicals ever since. If the archetects and structural engineers can't figure it out after weighing the evidence, how is it that you so rapidly did? Perhaps you should give these men the benefit of your experience, and solve the problem for them. When I watched the collapse, over and over, it seemed that the collapse didn't start with the immediate area, but with areas in the structure above and below the strike. But hey, what do I know? |

Well I disagree with most of you. I feel that a 757 wasn't the plane that hit the pentagon. It seems more probable that a Gobal Hawk drone hit the pentagon instead. I've argured this before and don't feel like getting into it again. Just be patient. I don't think that the Pentagon was specifically the one set target for the hijackers, probably just one that was discernible and distinctive in the DC area. You can crash a plane into the ground floor of a building quite accurately if you have set your altimeter correctly and keep the autopilot engaged. Practice using the VOR navigation radios, and you will have to pick out your target visually and disengage the autopilot when you bring it in on a final approach.
The thing that gets me on that webpage is the alleged "sanding over" of the lawn. They are constructing temporary roads for trucks and equipment to operate to remove debris. I don't know offhand the tare weights on these, but the typical load in a 10-wheel dump truck is about 23 tons, a trailer is good for about 40 tons. If you drive these onto normal lawns and uncompacted soils, the wheels will get stuck. So if that's not the reason the dump truck and dozer are there, they're "covering up" the evidence by employing contractors in full daylight hours by placing uniform compacted layers of sand and aggregate so that the evidence will never be found, right? |
