If you don't like HOAs - don't move into a neighborhood with one. Duh.

If you like them - have at it.
Link Posted: 10/1/2011 1:15:04 PM EST
I think it is funny as heck but somebody is prolly going to do some time in the pokey for that. HOA hater myself, just moved out in the woods a little, 3 1/2 acres I am the HOA.

Sometimes these HOA are nothing but a petty dictatorship, but blowing up anyone's property is over the top. It's called terrorism in my book.

There are some areas of the nation where it's getting impossible to find housing worth spending money on that isn't under an HOA.

Not to mention moving into a neighborhood that didn't have one when you moved, but then develops one while you live there...
In many places, HOA's become needed because the people suck and can't agree or work together to get things in the neighborhood fixed with a GOOD hoa, these things can be easily addressed.

In my work, we deal with probably over 100 HOA's, if you think one sucks, try dealing with multiple, OMG! What I have seen lately is more and more neighborhoods get so tired of dealing with the very HOA they fucking created that they outsource it to a management company...fucking people suck.

In many locals, an HOA is required as a condition for a new development....

Around here, a house NOT in a neighborhood with an HOA has a good selling point...

A shit bomb blowing up in someones face is funny. A real bomb could kill someone, even someone not intended.

Sometimes you gotta go big to get the message across.

More than likely this was set off when no one was around and at nite so they didnt get caught. So other than the "bomber" not sure who else it wouldve hurt.

Wonder what was used to cause that kind of damage?

sometimes it is not that simple. My father in law had a grudge held against him by the HOA because it was full of liberal old women who knew his political views and hated him for it. They would seriously propose new regulations just to target his property and piss him off.

This may have been a similar situation of power crazed assholes who don't know when to stop and someone might have just had enough of it. Even in little tiny governments I see no problem with a little rebellion if tyrants are running it. It was obviously worth the risk to this individual.

I have done that kind of damage with a seal bomb when I was young. Probably something similar.

HOA still "blows".

Communism at the local level.

Perhaps you'd feel differently if that little surprise greeted you when you collected your mail.

That is if you were able to feel, see, or hear anything again.

Or maybe when a kid was riding by on his bike or YOUR wife, girlfriend, mother or father were driving by and had a brick launched through their passenger-side window.

Yeah, that'd be a laugh-riot, wouldn't it?

THINK.

This is a total guess on my part, but I'm also thinking black powder or flash powder. The pieces that were blown off were large rather than shattered into small fragments.

and could have been a chlorine bomb

Is he going to send himself a letter for non-compliance? I see a fine in his future if he doesn't get on it with a quickness.

Is that a weed I see in his lawn? Another letter.

Debris in his driveway. Letter.

Lawn not 6.25" long. Letter...

Dang, I knew a guy with that last name, used to work with him, he was one messed up guy, he quit and moved out of state. If it is him by chance, I can completely understand why someone did it to him. Total jerk and idiot.

Not same guy but it sounds like the mailbox bit may have been something added after the neighborhood was built and wasn't initially there because all the brick mailbox setups are usually built at the same time as the houses.

So, it's ok to blow up and destroy private property if you are making a point?

Many of the responses in this thread sound like something I'd expect to hear from ELF or the Weathermen fan club.

The Homeowners Liberation Front isn't any better.

It's called a felony around here. If the person is caught they will do time in a federal pen.

Back in the day a cherry bomb was powerful enough to do the deed.

Of course in this day and age it will be described as high explosives of some sort.
