Forget the exact name but it's a British item used a lot in Ireland.  Display at the Orange County Fair during the Gun Show.

What are the tape marks for on the M1 Abrams' turret flanks (boths sides of main gun)?  Always wondered.

its velcro for thermal ID plates, its a friendly fire avoidance deal

ETA, its in Kuwait too seeing the stenciled markings on the front.  its a draw vehicle from Doha, or now Arifjahn

Thought maybe that was it, but I never see any "louvered" thermal plates mounted there. I usually see them mounted on the sides of Bradleys or the Brit armored PCs.
