If you know people that are kinda on the fence about the media and guns, or guns by themselves, then have them read this paragraph, take it away from them and ask "how many people die from accidental shootings". They will say something in the neighborhood of 18,000. Then show them how they are wrong by about 16,000. I showed it to several people today at work and everyone of them said the same thing, around 18,000, over 18,000, etc., even when they knew I was up to something, and really read it very carefully. You notice they don't say injured or hurt, then they lead your mind into the trap by talking about those who died, so you think that for those under 19, it's a third of 18,000. [spank] http://www.concordmonitor.com/stories/front1101/hunter_for_monday_2001.shtml Concord Monitor Monday, December 3, 2001 Teaching kids to hunt requires parents to put their fears aside "According to the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, approximately 18,500 Americans are unintentionally shot each year. Of those who died in unintentional shootings in 1998, 30 percent were 19 or younger. The two most common activities causing accidental shootings were cleaning a gun and hunting." (Sarah M. Hmmmmm, the media omits and manipulates the facts in order to further it's agenda. I'm shocked.
