I did after avoiding it for 5 years due to yucky side affects. I got it a couple weeks ago and I felt like shit the entire day/night of getting it. But I guess, this year, it's better to be safe than sorry.

Nope. Had the opportunity because we get free shots every year. Mind over matter. [;)]

The wife going to give it to all of us-Cheese, she goes to nursing school and the family all become practice dummies :-0

The county rolls around in this huge bus giving shots at cost of 12.00 each, I get one every year, heck, that is to good a deal to pass up.

Never had one, never been sick with flu, either. Guy here at work got one a few days back, is sick as a dog at home. If you're modestly healthy and take fair care of yourself, you don't need it.

NO. I thought about it, and turned it down,...got sick as a dog!!!!! Next year I will get one.

I got mine for $5 at work. I've never met a doctor who didn't recommend them.

I get them free at work. I Take it every year.
Link Posted: 12/8/2003 3:37:00 PM EST
Nah, but the wife did, and she's taking the kids to get one tomorrow.

As I sit here reading with a bad cold -- yes I had a flu shot.

Got a freebee at work also.

Since I am neither a small child, an old infirm person, and don't have a compromised immune system, I don't feel that I (as a healthy adult) should take up a vaccine that an old person or a child might actually NEED. I can live with the inconveniece of the flu - some people cannot survive it. Let them have the vaccine.

Our work was selling them for $5 each so I got one this year for the first time. My body reacted to the dead vaccine hard and so did my wife after the shot. But I still went to work, hopefully it will keep me going. Some 36,000 people die from influenza every year.

Yes, because when the colonel tells you "come with me, we're all getting a flu shot," the only smart answer is, "yes, sir."
Link Posted: 12/8/2003 4:11:10 PM EST
Yep, this year, too----just like every year for the past 5. Just turned 55----not a kid anymore. It's hell to get old----but a lot better than not getting any older---if you know what I mean!

Yep!I work on a dairy farm so I must. I didn't get one two years ago and payed the price for it!! I saw nothing but "spin-art" ( and felt it too )for two weeks because of that oversite.

One of the greatest Government conspiracies ever. Theres a terrible NEW flu out there. You MUST go get a flu shot...one that doesnt touch the new strain. Better hurry, running out of the shot across the nation [;)] Hmmm...whats in that stuff? I feel so Imbroglioish....[:D]
Link Posted: 12/8/2003 4:38:33 PM EST
Yep. I got the shot at the local Health Dept about a month ago. It cost me $8.00 It's a good investment in my book[:D]

Nope. I don't feel like accelerating Influenza's mutation time. If I get it, then that will suck, but I'll let my body deal with that. I only recommend it for the elderly, those with compromised immune systems, or people who are in a high risk group (health care workers, teachers, etc.). Having said that, I'll probably be sick with the flu in a few weeks.
Link Posted: 12/8/2003 4:43:23 PM EST
Nope, I refused them even in the military except for boot. I'll pass on putting a mild dose of multiple influenzas in my body. I'd rather pratice good hygeine and risk it.

I don't see the point in them. I work in a tire shop, and touch all the crap you guys run over in the street. i have not been really sick in years. however, by sick I mean, cannot walk. Also, it is bad enough that I drink water which the govt puts all sorts of things into, why should I make it worse.
Link Posted: 12/8/2003 4:45:52 PM EST
Nope never do ,seems like people that gettem still get sick so its a waste .
Link Posted: 12/8/2003 4:59:56 PM EST
Yes, I got the flu shot this year. I wish I could turn around and re-sell it on E-bay tonight.

I'm pretty healthy and haven't had a sick day from work in 15 years, but I have been ill during that time span. Even so I get the flu shot every year, all that I read indicates that it's a smart move. Have never gotten ill from them, at most a tender arm.
Link Posted: 12/8/2003 5:07:46 PM EST
Yes,but I'm asthmatic, same with hubby. We even made 17 year old son get one.
Link Posted: 12/8/2003 5:12:34 PM EST
Yes I got one. They always make my arm sore for about a day afterwords. After you get a bad case of the flu you start to understand why they have these shots.
