Anyone listen to Floggin Molly? Great stuff, I'm a fan of the Irish punk/rock. What are some other bands similar to them?

I have 1 flogging molly CD. I think the Drop Kick Murphy's (sp) are similer, not sure though.

Yeah, good stuff too. I'm a native MA, it's cool to listen to them.

Other than their political rants, they are great in concert.

There's got to be a good story behind that name...

If you want old school Irish rock, try Black 47.

"Old school?"

C'mon...they've been around no more than 15 years, tops.

Old school- The Wolfetones, Chieftains, Clancy Brothers, etc.

With that said, I really like Floggin' Molly, and think Black 47, while I have to admit their MUSIC is OK, does little more than pander to the commies and queers. F' 'em.

There's a band 'Blaggards' that is pretty good. They are out of Houston and not real big yet. www.blaggards.com is their website and that links to their myspace page that has a couple of their songs playing. I saw them first in December and have seen them 3 times since. It's good drinking music and they are really fun to see live.

Flogging Molly is ok. I'm more a Dropkick Murphy's fan though. Bar room Hero is excellent song.

www.shitenonions.com

Lots of good similar bands on there. The Peelers, The Mahones, Skels, Wages of Sin, etc.

Wolfstone is pretty good, too. They are a bit harder to find than Flogging Molly or Dropkick Murphy's, though.

Mollys was a bar they used to go to a lot. They said that they went their so much they felt like they were flogging the bar. Thats atleast what i heard. Ive also got to jump on stage at the end of a Dropkick Murphys concert. Bashed my shin in pretty good. Although I had a blast. Oh yeah I was pretty drunk too.
