So I am buying a new TV either todaqy or tomorrow. I'm looking for something 32inches and up. I have HD programming, and I want to be able to hook my laptop to it. I know at some point I'll get a PS3, but for now it will have to wait. Anyone have any good recommendations? Right now I'm looking at a 42" panasonic veira 720p plasma at Best buy for $599. 3 HDMI inputs, but no pc input. They make converters though. What sayeth ye?

Go with a 1080P model if you are going to hook up a PS3 to it.

Go with a Samsung. This would be good:

This would be a little better:

I accidentally reported you when trying to quote

So you think that the samsung is $250 better? I am looking at it now. It has a bunch of inputs...looks nice.

This will be my first HDTV

The Panny is terrific. At 42" you probably don't need 1080p, but if you feel like spending a couple hundred more just in case, there is a 1080p version of the same set.

Plasma is better than LCD where it really counts every day of the week. Don't be fooled.

Check newegg sometimes they have pretty good deals and free shipping, I've bought 2 tv's off of them. Definently go 1080p if your going to use the ps3 to watch blurays on anything bigger then 32" also 1080p will give you higher resolution when your using it as a monitor. If you want to try to save as much as possible go with a 60hz set they're usually $100 or more cheaper vs 120hz.
