My 5 year old Granddaughter is a big fan of the movie Titanic. She found our old VHS of the movie one day and put it in to watch it. Grandma didn't think she would last too long, but the little stinker sat and watched the whole thing. She was mesmerized by the "Heart of the Ocean" necklace and was sad that Rose threw it over the side of the ship in the ocean.
She told Grandpa that she would love to have the "Heart of the Ocean" necklace.
Well, being a good Grandpa, I rented a boat and paddled to the spot where I thought Rose threw the necklace, fighting whales and giant squid along the way. When I got to the spot, I put my scuba tanks on and dived way down deep. I wasn't sure I could find it, but I finally did. I had to fight off a couple of stingrays before I got back to the boat.
Finally, I reached the boat, fought off a bunch of pirates and paddled back to Oklahoma. We put the necklace in a nice display in the basement and turned the lights off. Here's a pic of the necklace
We led the Granddaughter down the steps and into the basement. She finally saw the necklace and let out a shriek and did a little dance screaming all the while, "Thank you Grandpa". She ran up to me clutching the necklace and said "It's the most beautiful necklace in the world, how did you get it?" I told her the above story, she listened intently and when I got through she asked:
Wait for it
HOW MUCH DID IT COST
Everybody just busted out laughing. Best Christmas ever.
