Would you be able to hold the FA, fire a round, which would stop the BCG from cycling, then hand cycle it to release the brass?

In theory it works, however, would it do any damage to the BCG, gas key, gas tube, etc?

why not just replace your gas block with an adjustable or remove the gas tube?

I belive it would break off the little pawl that the FA is.
That is a lot of force on that little piece.

Don't try it.

Do it and film it OP. I want to see what happens.

it will.. I guarantee it! Then it will be forced back in between the soft aluminum receiver and the nice hard bolt freezing it in position forever! forever forever forever!

This is the likely outcome.  Port pressure being 12,000 PSI at the least, that is over 550 pounds of force on the carrier.

Either it will break the little pawl on the FA, or it will stess the pin-hole in the upper and crack over time.

Something will break.

Just take off your gas tube as already mentioned.

IIRC its about 16000 psi acting on that gas tube.. whats the worst that can happen..

You're not going to hold it with your thumb I hope.

Please.

I think you're going to break your thumb.

My bet is that the impulse will override the pressure exerted on the FA by your hand, and allow the carrier to jump on past.  You'll be sapping a fair amount of energy from the operating system though, and odds are that will cause a failure to eject.  Only one way to find out, though..
