I currently use Firefox. Should I switch to Google Chrome? I like the minimalist approach, is there anything else that should steer me toward (or away from) Google Chrome?

I heard it's like a personal information vacuum.  Sends your data back to Google or some shit.

I switched to Chrome. It's not better, just different.

Although no tale of Google data mining would surprise me, I don't think that's exactly true or as bad as it sounds.

I used Firefox up until about 8-12 months ago. I then switched over to using Chrome and haven't gone back since. I've even managed to convince a few other people who were initially skeptical of Chrome to try it out, and some of them have switched over themselves.

Chrome loads pages faster than Firefox in my experience (the difference is actually quite noticeable when surfing things like arfcom), and it seems stable to me. It rarely locks up, and I don't restart it very often.

Firefox just seemed to be getting bloated. Chrome is very sleek and minimalistic in many regards. It takes a few days to get used to it, but once you do you'll probably like it more than Firefox. I know I do.

Apparently there's a new Firefox Beta out there that is purported to be faster than Chrome. They've also trimmed some of the fat, which is good to hear. If that's true, I may end up switching back. I'll run whatever is quickest. Right now that's Chrome.

I'd switch to Chrome, but I like my NoScript and Greasemonkey too much.

I don't like the ways that it's different.
I've heard performance-wise, that it's pretty good...

but in my testing I've found sites that plain just don't work.

I was a very hesitant FF adopter but when I did jump in I was hooked immediately.

One of the big reasons was the amount of advertising I could easily/quickly remove, and shit that I could block.

I don't feel I have that level of control with Chrome... not at all.

That's not even taking into account any google reporting shenanigans so...

While I have it installed, I never really use it.  I'm pretty much a FF fanboy, even though it ain't perfect.

It's still more perfecter IMHO.

Not the Firefox extensions them selves, although Chrome does have extensions and many of the popular Firefox extensions are available for Chrome. Essentially any extension for firefox can, and has been duplicated for Chrome.

I use it, and love it. It takes up the least viewing space with menu bars, tabs etc. The omni-box is cool, as is it's integration with gmail and other google services.

Well, turns out a critical web site for me does not support Chrome. Guess that solves this thread for me.

I think I'll keep it installed for curiosity's sake.

I installed Chrome but I like Firefox better.
I haven't removed Chrome but I only use it if I find a web site that doesn't display properly in FF.
Same with IE.
FF is my go to.

The address bar. It also acts as an instant search (google can attempt to auto complete the address your typing in or suggest sites based on keywords), search bar for multiple search engines, extension controls etc.

I think google calls it something else.

Fuck Chrome. Fuck Chrome in its shiny asshole.

I never even installed it, and I keep getting these bad script or interrupted script messages with Chrome in the heading, popping up and freezing up Firefox.

I hope the Google people who wrote the code for Chrome die of taint cancer.

You'd figure that NakedHarleyMen.com would support Chrome; it sort of goes with the theme.

Here's something about GreaseMonkey in Chrome: http://www.zdnet.com/blog/google/google-chrome-now-officially-supports-greasemonkey/1705

Here's something like NoScript. Haven't used it, don't know anything about it: https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/odjhifogjcknibkahlpidmdajjpkkcfn?hl=en

I like it except for two major things:

1.  No "Print Preview".

2.  Videos on Youtube and elsewhere would hang, or the video would stop and the audio kept going.  I even had Chrome and FF up side by side, FF was playing streaming video at full speed, while Chrome was hiccuping and unable to keep up.
