One says it's coming back www.fireflyseason2.com/index.asp

one says ...don't bet on it. www.scifi.com/scifiwire/index.php?category=1&id=34383

First one looks like a scam for some reason. If it can't come back right, don't screw it up. Anyone remember adding Dennis Rodman to Soldier of Fortune/Special Ops Force?

Firefly is dead. The network owns the rights to the TV show for the next 8 years. Serenity didn't make enough at the box office for the next movie to be made. Joss Whedon has moved on to other projects.

Firefly the TV series may be dead, but the Serenity/Firefly story certainly is not...as has been said many times recently by Joss Whedon himself...lots of folks have misinterpreted an interview he gave to USAToday back in December....

The FireflySeason2 stuff seems like a good idea...and the guy is affiliated with a media group that wants to buy the rights from FOX...I agree though, unless Joss Whedon supports the project it isnt good...

Go look at DVD sales of the Firefly series and the Serenity movie...

1. Serenity

2. Firefly complete series

3. Lost season one

4. Battlestar Galactica season 2.0

5. Corpse Bride

6. Star Wars: Episode III

7. Battlestar Galactica season one

8. Dune (Extended Edition)

9. Mr. and Mrs. Smith

10. Lord of the Rings trilogy

It didnt make a ton of money in the theaters...it was voted the top movie in the UK and it is pulling serious cash...the cast is signed for 2 more movies...I personally would prefer the TV genre, but I think it is safe to say that something else will come...

Some rough figures, as of last weekend:

$25.5M domestic box office gross
$13.3M overseas box office gross
$14M DVD sales (domestic-only)
$5.3M video rental sales (domestic-only)

The movie's "halo effect" on sales of the original TV series DVD boxed set is also significant.

Movie production costs were around $39M, not including distribution and advertising costs.
