I am currently living in Houston, Texas, but am a legal resident of West Virginia.  I know that sounds strange, but let me explain.  I am a student at the University of Houston and, as such, do not have to switch over my residency to Texas or apply for a Texas drivers license (I still have my WV drivers license) because I won't be considered a permanent resident.

Can I buy a firearm in the state of TEXAS if I am a legal resident of West Virginia?

Any help will be much appreciated

This is wierd, but do it.  Go to the sporting goods section of your local walmart and they will have a map that shows whether or not you can.  I've dealt with the run around of trying to talk to the pd about this.  It's not worth it.  Just go to wally world and be done with it.
