I have seen pictures of good quality mounts for fire extinguishers - but honestly have no clue where to buy them.  The plastic things that come in the packages just annoy me.

Can any of you folks provide me with a link?

Safety Central

Also, try your local boating store for USCG-approved brackets. Very rugged, very secure. Good for just about any application.

Thanks - those may just do the trick - crappy pics and descriptions, though, but I think I can risk it at the price.

Your fire extinguisher mfg'r should have USCG approved mounts, they used to give them to you, but now you have to buy them.
Mount them near a door, that way people won't get trapped if the fire get away from them, and around  3-4 feet off the ground roughly eyelevel. You want it so that a child can have access.
