I am trying to find out info about my grandpa who served in WWII. There is no living relatives that know much about. How can I get info, is there a website? Can I write a letter to someone?? Thanks in advance.

www.nara.gov/regional/mprsf180.html I believe it's a two page legal size form so you will have to have a printer that handles legal size printing . Many WWII records were lost in a fire at the central records building in WA DC.. If you know the outfit he served in there is a chance a website could have information on it and contacts for information. I've found my Uncle's (2) Army Air Force groups and squadrons and my Dad's ship and another uncles ships. Lots out there. Good luck

Not only will they provide the info, they will also reissue all medals and ribbons earned. I am starting to do this for my grandfather for a shadowbox. Good luck. Oh yeah, they said it could take about two years.
