One failed class, two C's and a B aint half bad right?

Too much beer, too much working to get beer money, not enough time in studies.

2.65 cumulative GPA on my 4th year of college. All that I have left next semester is police academy through the university and I'll have a degree. Good thing I actually practiced for that shit a while ago.

3.9 cumulative checking in
Link Posted: 12/10/2013 7:20:11 AM EST
Shit happens, though I went the opposite route as you. After my Freshman year, I had a cumulative GPA of something like 1.85. I shit you not, I went to exactly 11 classes my second semester of my Freshman year. Beer, females, parties and inexperience. I landed on academic probation, with one semester to get my shit in order. Thankfully, I did. On a 5 year plan, I managed to get the GPA up over 3. My last 2 semesters were 4.0. It wasn't exactly hard, either. I found that if I attended class, I really didn't need to study out of class. Sure, I wrote papers and did projects....but going to class eliminated the need to study for exams, at least for me. Like others have said, people give exactly zero fucks what your college GPA was, as long as you have that degree in the end.

Do you have any idea how much money straight As can get you? No need for student debt if you are on scholarship. If I can do it anyone can. Work less at your job and study as hard and as often as you would otherwise work.

Profit.

Thank me later.

That's not exactly true these days. Many departments, including my hometown, require a 4 year degree to get in. I believe it is becoming the new standard across the country, except perhaps in Mayberry or some shit like that.

Failed calc 3 last semester, took two summer classes to fix it and worked 60 hours a week all summer.

I have passed everything this semester, except for Differential Equations which is a little iffy, But I take that final in about two hours, and only need a 74 on the final to pass.

After this my math classes are done and I get to the fun engineering classes.

Major is ME

The sad part is OP thinks this is the hard part. The hard part will come when you get out and realize that a) unless you got an engineering/bio/chem/math degree, you had it pretty easy and 2) you thought your school was hard, there are a ton of schools that were harder and at each one of those schools were tons who were smarter - so get ready for the competition/suckage

Not sure if you read OP or not... I never said that this was the tough part, too difficult, etc. Yes, I obviously know that I have it pretty easy with the degree that I'm going into. I also didn't state that this school or any classes were difficult. I did say that because I worked too much, didn't study enough, ran around and drank too much, that it affected my semester.

College finals are not what they used to be... I can remember studying for a week straight to prepare for comprehensive finals in college. My sons are now in college and my older one is taking finals right now and doesn't invest much time at all studying yet can still make mostly Bs with a few Cs mixed in. So either kids these days are a lot smarter than we are... or something else is going on

Get that piece of paper and celebrate! You will have earned something that can do nothing but help you.

I've had that dream many times before. For me it was a class in my final semester of nursing school. My heart kicks into overdrive when I suddenly realize I had forgotten to attend a class all semester long and was now not going to graduate from nursing school. Ugh, ugly dream.
