Intall was amazingly easy, they arrived in a truck with a cherry picker and a van in case an outdoor antenna was necessary. It was not apparently, and the install consisted of them plugging in the modem and connecting the LAN cable to my router. THATS IT.

$49.95 shit away.

A few speedtests result in my fastest speed being 130 down and 119 up.

I susbscribed to the 512 level......

That sucks, I used to be saddled with dialup, there was only cable internet in my area and I had satellite.  I've since moved and have FiOS and it roxxors.  I watch all my TV shows online now whenever I get a chance to see them.

My Verizon AirCard supplied by work for my laptop is about 800down/180up and it costs the company about $50/month.

My FiOS at home is 5000down/1800up for $34.95/mo.

Wireless devices negotiate their speed down if the signal quality is too low.  I'm guessing your signal isn't quite good enough for a high speed.

An external antenna would help.

is a T3 same as a DS3... DS3 = 30 t1s (45mbit). I used to work for a company that charged 45,000$ a month for a full ds3.....

you can get supposedly, a full t1, 389 a month from speakeasy.

i have a buddy, lives way out a dirt road on a 30 acre farm with pigs, cows, donkeys. almost a SHTF getaway. in the mountains of north GA. He has a T1 and a datacenter in his basement with a generator and all the trimings. when the world ends, he can be his own internet...

A T3 / DS3 is 28 T1 / DS1's. (not 30)

T1/DS1 = 24 DS0 (24 Plain old telephone service)

DS3  = 28 DS1's

You can fit 672 DS0's into a T3/DS3
