I was hit by red light runner last week Sunday and just today was able to retreive my belongings, included in this about 500 rounds of my match ammo (my reloads).

This collision totaled my car (1998 Audi A4 quattro v6...loaded and paid for :(..)It also wrenched my neck and upper back but I'm still among the living so no real complaints.

I've had nothing but problems dealing with the other insurance party.  They initially claimed nothing could be done until fault was established (all 5 witnesses stated the other guy ran the red light) and they do not want to furnish me a rental.  I finally got my bicycle racks off the car but only after using my attorney....GRRRRR!

I cannot shoot as my neck is too painful and muscle relaxants don't mix well with firearms.

If the insurance co. gives you too much crap, just find a hungry attorney and ask them to write them a letter...  They live for this shit.

Keith,

Make sure you get thoroughly checked out by a qualified back specialist...not a chiropractor!!  I highly suggest you get a MRI and X-rays also.  Most back and neck problems show up weeks and sometimes months later after an incident occurs.  If you don't have documentation the insurance attornys will try to say the injury happened at a latter date.

Trust me on this...I have been thru the process before, always remember that the insurance company (both his and yours) are out to screw you!!  They are not your friend!

Heh, you wouldn't be dealing with Allstate would you?

I got rear ended in my new Toyota truck this fall and while it didn't total it, they did not want to let go of their money.

I had to pester them for weeks before I finally got a check to pay the body shop.

I was taken to the hospital as the impact knocked me out.  From there until now I have been through 3 sets of radiological exams by both ortho's and neuros and am under the care of an ortho with physical therapy.  Yes, there is a growing list of bills but I have insurance and pre-approvals for all but the ER/ambulance.

I got a real she-wolf of an attorney on my side.  She's yet to ask for money and acted on my best interest before the accident report was available.  I haven't met her but she sounds potent!  All I had to do is drop her name ojnce to the other party agent to get things moving.

Fortunately the insurance companies are not Allstate.  I've yet to claim anything on my policy.

Getting the attorney is the best thing you could have done. I've had a hell of a time with an insurance company (Allstate) after a wreck and it took a quick call from my attorney to get a rental and it was already proven it was the other guys fault. Good thing my attorney is my sister [:)]

Remember, if you're in the Dallas area, our good friend Eric The Hun is a lawyer [:)]

Amazing what the mention of this does to the adjuster.
