It is common knowlege that nature abhors a vacume. With the fall of the C.C.C.P. and the freedom that they are gaining a vacume has been created that is being filled with less freedom and more restrictions here in the U.S. For what ever the reason, no matter how nobel the cause it is a fact of life that we are loosing our freedoms here in our homeland while others in the world are gaining the freedoms that we once had. Our city streets are becoming "police zones" where everyone are subject to search and arrest. Our air ports have become a place of humiliation where a persons right to even cut his finger nails has been taken away. The freedom to express our religious views are being taken away as people in Russia are gaining their freedom to worship as they please. In short, this country will continue to become more like the Soviet Union as the Soviet Union becomes more and more like we use to be. There is nothing we can do, it's natures way to fill the void and fill the vacume. I fear the sad times are ahead for us. The only real question is "What are we going to do about it?" I don't have an answer, do you?

What exactly is a "vacume" anyway?

The tendancy towards socialism is a natural evolution.  The Societ Union served as an example of what we should not turn ourselves into for a long time.  Now that it is gone, we don't have the stream of propaganda with a known enemy as the source.  The 'do it for society' has lost the evil tone.  
The evolution towards socialism is natural because the shift of focus from the individual to the society is inevitable, once you form a society to take care of what the individual can't do by himself, or what is cost prohibitive for a company to do.
We aren't importing socialism from the CCCP.  We are making it up as we go along.
