I am building a tv room, so i can control the light very well. I am thinking about a Plasma tv, but she is saying that plasma is crap and we should get a LCD.
what are the pro's and cons of both. and i think there should be a sticky made about this.

plasma you will get  reflections off  of windows and  ceiling lights  ,unless you get a dark theater like room  the reflections take away from  picture quality  , check it out at the electronics store  .I got a 46 LCD and am happy with it

Light control=plasma for sure.  Better blacks and colors, although lcd is catching up.   You should really consider a projector if you can control the light in the room.

Go big or go home.

Plasma uses more electricity, has more glare and fades over time. However it has better color(in the beginning) and refresh rates.

LCD can have bad pixels, not as good colors(Black mainly), easier damaged screen(no glass) on front.

I got an LCD with a high refresh rate for the xbox and have had no problems.

Also you must also size the screen to your viewing distance. To big can have a bad picture if your too close.

Plasma has the reflection issue but LCD has the viewing angle issue. I have found that if you do not sit straight in front of the TV then the picture is not as good. So if you plan on having seats were there is an angle than you will not be seeing the best picture. Same applies for the elevation angle as well. I have Plasma for this reason. The room is odd shaped.
