On Tuesday, Jan 13, I put in an order to sell some shares - I needed some cash to cover unexpected bills.

It is now Jan, 19, and I still don't have my cash.

We're not talking tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars. A few grand. My transfer is held up "In Review". What the fuck do you need to "Review" that an algorithm can't handle? Give me my fucking monies, you spineless cocksuckers. It's been almost a week. I can rebuild a 350 in that time, as well as fuck your CEO's wife until she screams for mercy...and her sister, too. Silly fucking cunt would forget all about her fucking Wall St. husbandry dick while I was T-banging her Harvard educated tits off of my redneck nutsack. Give me my fucking monies, dickwads!

ETA: Carry on. I give them to Tuesday, then the same text in an e-mail goes to their "Contact Us" box....

It's sac but I still give you 8.5/10. Use of the word cunt added a full point.

Their business is NOT giving you money. It's getting you to give them more.
Link Posted: 1/19/2015 9:19:41 PM EST
Not a bad rant.

Fuck Fidelity.

I had some shares held by Fidelity that I sold this summer. Took about a week and a half to get the money.
Sold some other shares through another brokerage at the same time and it took maybe 3-4 days.

I love Fidelity!
They have allowed me to retire at age 55!

Sorry & thanks. I'm just a redneck, beer-drinkin', hell-raisen, Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering son of a bitch. These fucking cocksuckers in their Freeman-Dicksuckin suits can come see me anytime. I'll kick their ass & show their bitches the meaning of the word respect!

What the fuck! If I wanted my monies in a few weeks, I'd have floated it down the damn river!

Cocksuckers!

Place order after market close an trade goes through next day then 3 day settlement and then add in weekends today a holiday. Fidelity is usually good but they can't speed up settlement. No, I don't work there.

Trader #1: This is a stock exchange. There’s no money for you to steal!
Bane: Really? Then why are you people here?

I feel your anger OP. I have had the same issue with those corksackers too. No matter what day of the week you order a sale, they take an entire furrkin week to give up the money. What kills me is, they get a commission off the sale, Why not speed up the sale.

Made me laugh. 10/10

I've had the same issue but overall Fidelity is GTG.

They pocket the dividends during that 10 day period the funds are in "review"

Very clever!

Old stockbroker joke of broker explaining to prospective client how this investing thing works:

"Well, we're going to take your money and my experience, and keep investing until it's my money and your experience."

Next time maybe have some cash on hand for unexpected bills.
This might save you from having to go thru this.

That name rings a bell

Oh yeah those guys: Twelve or so years ago, the financial miracle working LFA at their
Wexford PA storefront advised my wife (then 36) and I (43) to place the
cash we had from our fathers' estates and insurance (both died that year) into an annuity.

Given a sure thing that would dribble out after twenty years, but yeah, fuck those guys......

My father passed Dec 1, and even though his 401k lists me as the direct and only beneficiary, Fidelity has been dragging their feet for A MONTH AND A HALF and is still "going through the process" of switching it into my name.

If it is "in trust for" or TOD (transfer on death ) the process should be immediate upon providing a bona-fide death certificate.

I know. But they're not being too immediate about it, even with me calling two or three times a week.
Link Posted: 1/20/2015 9:16:17 AM EST
That's only 3 working days, hardly a week.
What does your prospectus say regarding trades and turn around time?
Investments aren't a bank account, if you need immediate liquidity that's what money market accounts are for.

But rant away anyhow...

File a complaint

That's an easy one to do, once they get the death cert and you have a beneficiary Ira open, money should be transferred asap.

Oh the joys of dealing with a discount broker
