I traded bunch of stuff I wasn't using for an AR15 last winter with the idea that I'd spend a lot of time at the range - it just didn't happen. Despite all the information on the site, I was pretty green about the ins and outs of these rifles and as it turns out I just didn't use the gun as I anticipated.

Now I want to sell it, but I have *NO* idea what its worth. I'd like to try and get an idea of a fair market value range for it, but I don't want to post that kind of question if its out of line. If it is in line, I'd like to know how to word it and where to put it.

I'm not initially going to post the specifics here because I really want to approach this in a way that wouldn't offend the community. I'm not enough of a regular here to mess things up if this would be out of line.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Here is what I need to know to give you a fair market value.

Who made it?

How old?

What type of AR15 rifle? 20"? 16"? M4?

Any special equipement? Scope? Slings? Mags?

A basic rifle set up is worth $550=$750 used in very good to excellent condition.

OK, I've got pics - but my ISP just screwed around with my webspace and I can't host them. I edited them down to a reasonable size - can someone put them up if I email them to you?

Thx, Q

Chit - like I said - my webspace isn't working. I tried to use AR15 pic hosting, but couldn't log in. Do I need a different account?

Cat, thanks I can see now that it will accept the 'url' code, but I'll be darned if I can figure it out. The pics all come up fine on my end. Any help with uploading to the AR15 hosting service?

BASED ON WHAT I CAN TELL from your pics, you have a $600 rifle.

Exactly what kind of optical contraption is that? I assumed it was some cheap red-dot thingy.......

Its a bushnell red dot sight - and yes - kind of an odd gooseneck mount where you look right down the rails through the sight. Goofy looking, but it works. The lower is one of the Stinger .223 labeled models.

who made it? are the receivers cast or forged? do you know when it was made? does it have chrome lined bore and chamber?

If it comes with those accessories that are in the pic id say at least $800.
