Does anyone know FedEx's policy shipping firearms within the US?

You have to ship it priority overnight.

Priority overnight, must declare it is a firearm to the clerk but cannot have any markings on the box to note that it is a firearm and you must do the shipping at a FedEx hub.

I just shipped something back and forth from SA, no problems at all.

That's what I was afraid of. That takes the shipping cost from about $35 to around $160.

So don't use FedEx. UPS still ships guns.

Only handguns need to go overnight.  Rifles and shotguns can still go ground.

I've actually been able to ship both long guns, and handguns 2 day through FedEx. I prefer them over UPS!

My last handgun was shipped 2-Day FedEx.

As per FedEx's own rules:

If you use regular FedEx service, it must be priority overnight.

If you use FedEx ground service, it must be a rifle or a shotgun (no pistols).

If you violate FedEx's rules, it's not against the law, but FedEx can (and will) refuse to pay any insurance claim.

Nah, for long guns use the post office. Good prices. Good service. No hassle.

What?

Last pistol I shipped back to Taurus cost me $24.92.  That was 9/2003.

Right now, priority overnight, WA to FL, 2 pounds and $750 declared value was about $45.

I've got a 20" HBar AR-15 and a pistol in a Pelican 1720 case. It's 40-50 pounds total. Looks like I'll have to seperate them.
