I'll get flamed for this but everyonce in a while I'll put ketchup or A-1 on my steak.
What do you put on it?
Link Posted: 12/24/2005 4:30:13 PM EDT
Link Posted: 12/24/2005 4:30:20 PM EDT
Nothing.

If I want to taste steaksauce I'll eat it by itsself.

57
Link Posted: 12/24/2005 4:31:48 PM EDT
A-1. Lots of it!
Link Posted: 12/24/2005 4:32:58 PM EDT
A1 is Best.
Link Posted: 12/24/2005 4:33:02 PM EDT
I only use A-1 when the steak is over cooked and dry.

If the steak is cooked properly, then nothing is needed.
Link Posted: 12/24/2005 4:34:12 PM EDT

A-1/57

How could you lump A-1 and 57 sauce into the same option
Link Posted: 12/24/2005 4:34:14 PM EDT
Horseradish should really be up there, as alot of people use it, but I love the orangey taste of A-1 on the side for dippin'

bacon.

I like it with the prime rib but never tried it with steak, hmmmm
Link Posted: 12/24/2005 4:36:23 PM EDT
blue cheese or Lea&Perrins(sweat&spicy)
Link Posted: 12/24/2005 4:37:16 PM EDT
If it's cooked right, you don't need anything.

Otherwise, A-1 is good.
Link Posted: 12/24/2005 4:39:15 PM EDT
A mix of A-1, pineapple juice and BBQ sauce.

Yummmm!

57 is a good dip for a crappy steak, but a good steak needs no condiments, unless it is a side of sauteed mushrooms/onions.
Link Posted: 12/24/2005 4:42:37 PM EDT
coarse ground black pepper.

My thoughts exactly. Except for one thing. I can handle a little creamy horseradish, especially with a nice Vegas prime rib, or a garlic rub before it hits the bbq.

But usually, a little salt and pepper is all that's needed.

Johnny's Seasoning Salt....apply while grilling....damn it's good.

horsie on prime rib, though
Link Posted: 12/24/2005 5:03:35 PM EDT
Montreal steak seasoning.

I use that stuff for everything.

Specially for smoking meats as a rub.

Salt
Pepper
Onion powder
Garlic powder

Once in a while a light coating of BBQ sauce

Only pussies and fags ruin a good steak by putting stuff on it.

No offense intended.

I caught my aunt putting ketchup on her filet mignon. To me, it was the equivalent of graffiting the Sistine Chapel.

She got an earful from me, and then some.

God's gift to steak lovers IMHO. That and A1

LAWRY'S
Link Posted: 12/24/2005 5:24:37 PM EDT
Horseradish, and once in a while chipolte Tabasco.
Link Posted: 12/24/2005 5:38:00 PM EDT
Mushrooms!
Link Posted: 12/24/2005 5:40:48 PM EDT
I just like a small pad of butter.
Link Posted: 12/24/2005 5:55:46 PM EDT
And I suppose you cook yours too!!!!!

Barely.

Salt
Link Posted: 12/24/2005 6:08:42 PM EDT
I didn't see salt in the poll. If a steak is cooked properly; med. rare; it doesn't need anything, but salt of course.
Link Posted: 12/24/2005 6:15:57 PM EDT
Salt

Salt & pepper

Lemon juice & olive oil

Tempura dipping sauce

BBQ sauce

Link Posted: 12/24/2005 6:20:26 PM EDT
A properly seasoned, properly cooked steak does not need additions.
If the steak isn't great, I will put some A1 on it....
Link Posted: 12/24/2005 6:23:11 PM EDT
A-1 is good for repairing a steak that's otherwise a loss. A good steak needs nothing else, though.
Link Posted: 12/24/2005 6:23:52 PM EDT
TANNERITE!

man am I tired of wrapping presents.
Link Posted: 12/24/2005 6:27:28 PM EDT
Some Oklahoma Joes' BBQ Rub before grilling or motreal steak seasoning if thats all I got Med Rare just a little Kikomans soy sauce while eating it.

Then thier are times when just very Hot coals, salt and Fresh ground pepper will do. Some Bacardi to cool off with.
Link Posted: 12/24/2005 6:29:10 PM EDT
Horseradish. Like A1, too.
Link Posted: 12/24/2005 6:30:05 PM EDT
I like Lime juice and honeymustard

I know my blood pressure will start making me black out, but use lawry's and A1 and you got some good stuff. Any steak can tast good with that on it!

If a steak is really good, I may eat a few bare bites to savor the true taste of the meat before slathering it in salty death! Muwahahahaha!
Link Posted: 12/24/2005 6:40:12 PM EDT
nothing goes on my steak. When someone asks for something for their steak, that means the steak wasn't cooked properly. A nicely cooked steak needs no extras.
Link Posted: 12/24/2005 6:52:06 PM EDT
Eating at my house would sure suck for most of you! I don't have ANY A-1 or H57, the only time that it's ever in the house is if it is an ingredient in something else, then I throw away the left over!
