82ndAbn: neat car
What kind of engine & trans combo? I like the old '67 Pontiac GTO with cold air induction system, and outside mounted tachometer. |
|
Those are 1970s Plymouth 'Cudas. Only 327 rolled out of the factory with the 440 sixpack.
Here's a link to their history: CUDA

I had a 1973 with a 318 and 727 auto. I LOVED that car also, sat really nice and low to the ground. My Trans Am I had to sell when I had my second child. I still remember the day I came home and it was gone. I literally sat and cried on the driveway for a few moments. Wife and I got married in that car and we did a few other things also... SGatr15 |

Thanks for the clarification. If they came with the 340, weren't they V8s? |
|
|
Yes, it WAS a V8, worst mistake Dodge ever did IMO was quit production of those 2 engines. (the 318 & 340)

+1. The RS/SS was a nice combo as well. I'd still take a c6 vette over anything else right now. |

Ummmm, I hate to be a know it all, BUT.... Those are all 1970 AAR 'Cuda's. AAR 'Cuda's came with the 340 six pack. BTW, I have a 1970 'Cuda, 383, 727, etc. Gotta find the pictures. ETA dammit. Guess I should read all of it before posting. I also used to have a 1967 GTO, 400, TH400, etc. Another great car that I wish I still had. |

340 V8, roger that. |

A '51 Ford Business Coupe, w/ a blown 427 done over by Chip Foose would make me fart blood!

Hell yeah, that's one sweet car! |

My favorite muscle car/pony car is the Camaro, I like the Z28/SS/IROC-Z/whatever performance models for virtually every year. Currently have a 94 Z28 with a couple mods. Can't believe Chevy has cancelled it and left it dead for 3+ years, what a crock...

A high school friend had a Dark green 68 Z28. Factory underhood dual quad cross ram. Also had hide away headlights, 4:10 posi and shifted at 6000 RPM. Demon fast. Weighed around 3100 lbs. Perfect. |

My last muscle car. Completely restored her down to the last bolt on the frame. 1972 Dodge Demon. 340 with a 6-pak and 4 speed manual trans. Would she get up and go...

Every Chevy on this page is a wise choice!
'67 Chevelle 396, '67 Vette 427 and the '66 Nova 350hp 327 would be at the top of my list. |

It's amazing what's happened to all the old musclecars.
Back in High school, I had a mustang, one Buddy had a 66 SS396 Chevelle, another had a 67 RS/SS camaro, and there were tons of other guys running around in decent rides nobody thought anything about, except who was faster than who. Now, 15 years later, the one guy I know who held on to his three 'Cudas is the only one with any "driver" muscle cars. The cars we didn't care about driving and occasionally wrecking are all sitting in someones garages, under cover, restored within an inch of their life and driven 3 or 4 times a year |
