I have several, I can not nail it down to a single item. I am taking good care now to save certain things.

I know my son would have absolutely loved my old school Lincoln Log set....

It's not that I didn't save it, I lost my Canadian College Football National Championship ring. I left it in a hotel room on a business trip, and when I called back the next day, was told it was never found. He wasn't even born then, but I knew if I ever had a son, I'd want thim to have that.

Toy-wise, my Marx  WWII Navarone playset. They go for $200+ on ebay.

My Tonka trucks, from back when they were almost all metal, and maybe my Daisy bb gun and first fixed blade knife.

I saved all my baseball/football cards from the 70's and 80's. They'll get them some day if they want them.

I rarely sell anything out of my collection, so they're already divvying up what they'll get out of it when I die. I try to remind them that I'm only 40, and that, hopefully, they'll be adults for awhile before I buy the farm so they will be able to purchase their own weapons.

That's irreplaceable and would have become an heirloom.  Sorry to hear about it.

I was big in sports when I was a youngin, my son at 12 now has also been the same for the last several years. He wants some of my old school football jerseys, epecially the all star ones with our name on the back so he can wear them today, but my mother gave them all to goodwill when I was in the Marines.

Considering the wording of the thread title question, your answer is a little bit...odd.

I gave all my kids the same thing I was given.

A solid foundation of right and wrong , the rest is up to them.

BTW , most wont attach the same value to "things" as you hope they will , and in the end both of you will be disapointed

Every firearm I have ever purchased or inherited.  Along with a whole bunch of really cool stuff.

BTW: My daughter is also in the pool for the firearms and cool stuff; after all she is a die hard Aggie.

I gave him my first gun; my H&R 20ga but I would have loved for him to have my old indestructible Tonkas, my Old Red Ryder and the 800 or so original print comics I had collected from about 1974 up.

At least he gets the gun!

My mother had kept my Matchbox cars and gave them to my boys.  My boys have them all over the place so I'm starting to think I need to wait until they're older.

I would've loved to still have my first gun, a Winchester 9422 that my Dad bought for me, to pass to my son.

Plastic pump squirt gun that looked exactly like a XM177.  It was all black too.  My and my buddy must have gone through like 5 apeice between the ages of 8 and 13.  Running through the woods playing Tour of Duty.

A large law enforcement patch collection. 100 or more batches badges etc. Had a a real texas ranger badge in it. Was in a nice velvet lined case my uncle gave it to me when I was 2-3. My mother stole it and also tried to steal my silver collection that I call my viking horde. She couldn't get her hands on it however so I do still have that.

As a kid it pained me that my dad did not save his Navy uniforms for me. I wanted to know who had them, how I could get them, and so on......
