My Maine Coon, Misha, AKA Fuzzbutt, AKA El Gato Loco, is no more. He will be missed, by everyone except the dogs, whom he terrorized until the day he died.
He had a good run of it.

I've had many cats, but my favorite was Cheech, a Maine Coon who was simply awesome. He was playful as a kitten his entire life, and a total pet whore.

RIP kitty.

Sorry to hear of your loss.
My Main Coon has gone totally blind––can't even see light.
Damn shame to see him reduced to walking in circles trying to figure out where he is.

Sorry to hear. Not easy to lose a furry friend.

I am sorry for your loss. My cat growing up lived to be 19 he was the best. The shithead I have now is a pain in my ass but I would miss him terribly if something happened to him.

We had almost a year's warning (feline lymphoma) as it turned out. He got a lot thinner, but still ate like a horse (well, a carnivorous horse) and was getting around well enough to jump up on the backs of armchairs from the floor right up til yesterday. When he went it was sudden.

Fuzzy little bastard was the best pet I've ever had. RIP little buddy.

Maine Coons are awesome, I had one that was 26 pounds Believe it or not he wasn't fat, he was just a damn big cat.

Edit: and he too terrorized dogs, my neighbors dog ran at the sight of him

Sorry to hear about your fatty. I have a fatty too and he's about 15 now, he's only got a couple of more years in him. He also sends his regards.

Remember what Garfield said..... " Cats are actually aliens that have invaded the earth." They hypnotize us by making that purring noise which causes us to take them in, give them warm and loving homes, pet them , pay for their food, pay for their health care and allow them to rule our homes with their aloof arrogance.
In spite of all that, we still love them little critters!
We are down to 3 but once had 14.
I know you will miss your kitty!

I had to put my Main Coon, Arthur, down today. He was around 11 years old. It is really tearing my 5 year old daughter up ( and me too). A lot of people don't understand how great MC are. He was like a dog and unbelievably good with my 5 year old and 2 year old. Sorry for you loss, I know what you are going through.

Sorry for your loss. We lost our MC back in 07. Great kitties. My current one is an American short hair and thinks he is a dog.

They really are much more personable and seem to establish more of a bond with humans than other breeds. Great cats, very loving.

Awww cute cat, sorry for your loss. We have a Maine coon here and he is the best cat ever. Follows me around like a puppy, and is the most gentle lovey cat ever.

He was a rescue cat of all things. The local cat ladies had gotten a preggers MC and had the kittens at the pet store for adoption right before Christmas. That crazy cat lady knew she had feline gold (lots of people asking) and turned into the toughest adoption critic I've ever seen. Wanted pictures of the house, character references, a VETRENARIAN reference and had, get this, an interview requirement.

I ended up missing my interview appointment with the CCL because my folks sheep had broken through the ice on the pond, gone out to the island, and gotten stuck out there while my folks were out of town. I showed up late for the interview with a blanket wrapped around me and explained that I'd had to wade out through the mud and water, breaking ice ahead of me, and bring em back. I think that was what got me my cat. :-) The funny part was that he looked just like he does in the pic, only he would fit in your hand. Mom tried for years to steal him, and he finally went to live out at the farm with them when I moved onto the boat.

Condolences, OP. I dread the day I lose one of mine.

I have a part Maine Coone. Not as big as yours, but he's been with us six years now.

Damn, that's a crazy process just to adopt a kitten.
