Fake officer tries pulling over real cops

ODENTON, Md. --  Anne Arundel County police say they concluded a two-week investigation with the arrest last night of a Crofton man who works as an armed security guard.

According to police, Karl Salenieks, 34, was the driver who flashed blue and red emergency lights at an unmarked county police car last month near Fort Meade. When the plainclothes officers pulled over, they said Salenieks drove off, but not before the officers copied down the license plate.

The car was registered to Fallsway Security, the company that employed Salenieks as an armed guard. According to police, Salenieks is a convicted felon and not allowed to carry a gun.

Police searched his home Monday night and seized two handguns, a shotgun, a taser, police badges, police car lights and handcuffs.

Salenieks is charged with handgun charges, impersonating an officer and making a false statement to police.

Really?

Looking at the back of my MD security license, it says "Issued by the Maryland
State Police".

Nice catch, fellahs.

This reminds me of something my best friend and I did when we were 18. We were in his '77 Chevy Nova when we realized the low beam was out on the passenger side headlight. Much to our chagrin, we also then realized the high beam was out on the driver's    side headlight.

Then it dawned on us what great power was bestowed upon us as we drove around town that night.

We only had one victim in the bag by the time we were pulled over by *real* cop car.

(This was 1988)

ETA: Damned JBT took one look at us crapping our pants and let us go.
