I have a set of Strange 3.73s for a 10 bolt GM and Ratech deluxe install kit I was trying to sell for $225.
A guy wants to trade me a mid 2000s PSE Firestorm bow 60-75lbs draw and maybe a deer stand, and I know absolutely nothing about bows.
If I made the trade it would be to resell the bow and stand.
Fo or no?

I'd think you would come out on top with that trade. Just a guess. R&P maybe $180.00 with install kit, bow and stand maybe $250.00 ish?

Fair trade?

Only you can answer that OP.
How old are you?

seems like to me a gm 10 bolt gear would be easier to sell than a bow

resell value on bows isnt all that great I wouldn't think

I say no

For the record, that's not the generally accepted definition of getting some strange.

No, but trading blow for strange is

I haven't bought Strange for a while, but they don't give that stuff away.
Top quality stuff, and priced accordingly.

Admittedly, I know very little about archery.
That said, would not fo. I think you could do better.

Try racingjunk.com maybe?
Or even a local 4x4 club

nope

An early 00's bow with period stuff on it (sights, rest...) is maybe a $100-150 bow. Stands vary all over the place.

I would think a set of gears in that popular of a ratio would be easier to sell.

Do you need a bow?

Do you need the gears?

I don't need either, so to me they are worthless. Your value is in who wants to pay for the items.

3.73 is a street ratio for normal range tires and an overdrive trans. 12 bolt is better. Lower is better. (4.11, 4.50, 4.88, etc. )
I don't know shit about bows.

Is it for a 7.5" 10 bolt or 8.5"?
Link Posted: 6/22/2016 1:49:30 PM EDT
7.5" rear

For an F-body then I assume. If that's the case I wouldn't take an old dumpy bow for it. Even though more reasonably priced 10 bolt replacements are out there's always something trying to get some extra mileage out of theirs.

If you're trading it to use the bow and stand you're doing well, if you're doing it to resell them you're a net even but there will be little interest in the bow, it will sell slow.

I would not do it, bows go out of fashion every season as the new bows come out, anything over about 2 years old is old technology and is considered behind and not as efficient as the current stuff. Gears, don't go out of style and they will always fit GM rear ends, which have been around for decades!

You can do much better.

Never use a used bow

.

Never trade for something you know nothing about.

The guy wants your gears bad enough he can sell his bow and pay you with the proceeds.

If he can't sell his bow, then why in the world would you want it?

Ask him if he has any guns or ammo to trade for the gears.
Link Posted: 6/22/2016 3:48:17 PM EDT
I have no use for 3.73 gears, I could use a bow.
