There's a whole thread on this gun over in the "Handgun" forum. Give it a look.

Was Hoping some one had personal info on this pistol I just read somewhere on here that they were for sale, I thought sale in the US was prohibited that FN was keeping there 5.7 strictly for police and Military.

Love the look, hate the round.

Would be nice as a gun for plinking though.

Will probably come with 20 round mags after the ban sunsets.
Link Posted: 9/8/2004 11:24:52 AM EDT
The pistol is neat, the round develops less muzzle energy between the .22 Hornet and the .22 magnum rimfire. The big plus for it is the long, tapered steel cored AP bullet...which isn't sold to civilians.
As stated, if piercing IIA vests with a pistol is your game, 7.62x25mm FMJ will do that.

Is that legal?

Sabots, yes. Machining solid, non lead cored bullets for it, no.

It is being sold right now for $689 by BOTACH Tactical. I'm sure there are a few places selling it.

Cheers

Personally, I'm going to wait for the Government Model to come out, it's the same one that the U.S. Seceret Service uses. It should be out late this year and it'll have the 20rnd. mags.

From a pistol we're talkin' something like 2100fps with a 28gr. bullet. That doesn't sound like much and many will tell you it's "Just" a .22Mag. but they're quoting rifle specs. not pistol specs. From a pistol a .22Mag will do about 1600fps. Plus, I've Never seen a .22Mag cut thru Kevlar like this round. P99Guy has a bunch of good info for this ctg. , check his thread in the Handgun section.

As Poodle said, no. Its illegal, and will get your ass into all kind of trouble to make them. I was just saying that from a theoretical point of view...... Such as, machining tungsten carbide or leaf spring steel into a bullet.
