Having trouble with your local drug cartel? Has an armed insurgency moved into the house next door? Well John Hennessey may have just the vehicle for you.

The 2012 Hennessey VelociRaptor APV is a fully-armored version of the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor pickup truck. Based on the upcoming Super Crew model of the high-performance off-roader, Hennessey Performance - better known as the builder of 1,000 hp supercars - has converted the four-door pickup truck into an SUV, with seating for up to eight passengers.

More important if the armed gunmen are getting restless, the 6.2-liter V8 engine gets a supercharged bump in power from 411 hp to 575 hp, which should go a long way toward compensating for the increased weight of the armor - the specifications of which are still under wraps.

To help you pass the time while under assault, or plan your escape, the VelociRaptor APV can be fitted with a host of electronic options including satellite TV and high-speed internet.

Pricing has not been announced, but the order book is now open.

And, for those of you who happen to live in one of those Norman Rockwell-type suburban idylls, a non-armored version of the VelociRaptor is also available for when you're late for soccer practice and the field on the other side of an arroyo.

No, he's much, much, worse.

Personal story:

Customer has Viper, gets full Henessey treatment (at the time was the 800?) gets car back after 11 months, good rumble, sounds like it has a big cam, etc...
Goes to dyno, makes 6 bhp more than stock.
After months of talking to Henessey, pays shop (not Henessey) to disassemble "built" motor. Motor is completely stock, and has clearly never been apart.
Find that sum total of non cosmetic or bolt-on mods is a new ECU program that drops cylinders at idle so it sounds like it has a big cam.
Lawsuit ensued.
