I've always been fascinated but a bit weary of high places. Getting close to the edge of a tall skyscraper would give me the creeps. There was a video awhile back of three guys sitting on the pinnacle of the Burg Khalifa in high winds that blew my mind. I can't find it but man it was crazy. One slip and you're done.

That freaking tower climbing video always gives me the willys. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to post the link to it.

I was a hi-rise window cleaner in Manhattan for 15 years, but all my pics are on regular photos and I don't have a scanner.

The building on the left is 55 Water St in NYC,and I worked there for 5 years 800 feet outside on a POS scaffold.

Internet pic ,but this happened a few times through the years.

Another pic from the internet but I did this the most.

The windows in the WTC were washed by a car wash style rig that the operator controlled from the roof.

One of my old stations aerials, about 70 degrees and at around 105 feet.

One hell of a ride, add some smoke / fire and it got downright crazy.

No pics from highrises, but the highest Ive worked was the 32nd floor outside the temp handrails, tied off while doing concrete work for the glass walls to sit on. Nice views on a clear day at that height, at least where I was.
Here's a couple pics from the last couple jobs Ive been on.

The powerplant is appprox. 80 feet wide by 250' long IIRC and 30+ feet tall above ground.

300' ish feet up above the river bottom, hanging in a manbasket from the crane to reach some spots on the pipe way up the hillside.

This isn't super high but being in a manlift out over live traffic when the bottom of the basket is 22' above the freeway, and knowing a semi is only 14' isn't much of a comfort when they come flying by at 60mph. Waiting to feel the manlift move aburptly while you're tied to it and the basket is wedged into between the girders.

i did a photo shoot for a company that digs airshafts for coal mines. to get to the bottom of the shaft i had to ride down in the excavation bucket. the crane for the bucket was pretty talll. instead of just lowering us in the hole they first took us up about 150 feet or so directly above the 1000 foot shaft. made me a touch nervous. company rep i was with said that in the old days every time a new guy started on his first trip down they would first take them way up above the shaft and then let the bucket free fall for a couple of seconds.

I've wanted to hike that since the first time I saw that video. It's set up as a via ferrata. Easy peasy.

Not nearly as cool as that one, but there are few here in the States. There's one in Kentucky and one in West Virgina. Fun.

600' on WFMJ TV in Youngstown, Ohio. I have been up to 1485' on another TV tower but do not have pics.

The trucks on the ground are F-350 crew cabs.

I could think of a sum of money I would be willing to do that for.

ETA the first thing I would buy with my newfound fortune would be a helicopter ride out of there when I finished :P
