CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) - A high-rise office building in the St. Louis suburb of Clayton has been evacuated after reports of an explosion.

Police evacuated several hundred people from the building just after 11 a.m., and several neighboring buildings were also evacuated as a precaution.

Witnesses told KSDK-TV they saw one person who appeared injured, but that was not immediately confirmed by authorities.

No smoke was visible from the building after the evacuation.

Clayton is the St. Louis County seat and includes many businesses and offices.

Guy came out with blood over his chest. It shook the bldg. Bomb & Arson on scene radio silence in effect. Wit. reports he was opening a box or a trunk when it blew. The call came out as an explosion.


B & A has been there for about 2 hrs. so must be something in the garage. Radio silence still in effect on scene
