This is what just happened to me. I was hanging off of my cot petting a cat and I moved my eyes a certain way and I saw hundreds of little blue electric 'stars' in my vision, not totally obscuring everything, but polkadotting my vision almost like static on a TV. Interesting thing is that it happened in both eyes simultaneously. I think it had something to do with the position of my neck and not so much my eyes, but what do I know? This also happens during a variety of other circumstances so I'm sure its normal and not a sign of retinal detachment. I just find it fascinating.

Maybe it's a (in Arnolds voice) TUMOR.

PA is too far away to calls dibs –– I guess I will let this one pass.

No ones calling dibs on my eyes, damnit.

Who the hell would want your defective eyes?

I get this from time to time.

Seriously, were you lightheaded, dizzy or nauseous when it happened?

None of the above.

I've seen 'em before. It's like little sparkly flies that zigzag toward or away from the center (I can't remember which). It really looks strange.

EDIT: I misread the title. I've occasionally seen stars when I move suddenly, but not when I move my eyes suddenly.

I've seen very bright bits of light moving like fast insects in the center of my vision before.

Good. The only time it happened to me was when I passed out from, I hate to admit this here, locking my knees at attention.

It must be common then.

You're seeing red blood cells on your retina or your retina is detaching. The 1st is not so bad, the 2nd needs immediate attention.

Get to your doctor. Seriously.

dibs on optics

I had them, once. And then started seeing "floaters" in what seemed like increased amounts.

Went to an eye doctor ASAP to check for a detached retina, or other serious problems. Came back negative, and I've never seen stars like that since.

Get to an eye doctor fast, though. It's very reassuring to have them say your eyes are extremely healthy, and there aren't any problems present.

And a lot of eye problems can be fixed if caught early.

HPPD from too much drug use? Not saying that is the case, but it is a possibility.

Could be a blood pressure issue. Go to Dr.

I use to see them all the time. Have migraines much? I do.... They have slacked off the last couple of years.

talk to a Doc...

No one called it, so dibs on guns.

I wouldn't mind the eyes. Probably a really cool reactive target.

I've only ever had auditory hallucinations from too much benadryl.

What's the poem Stewie composes and recited from his bed?

Something about 'Oh, squiggly line.......'
