So I'll be heading to the EU next week and wanted to know of an affordable automatic watch. I'll be in Austria, Germany, and Italy. I'm looking for $150 or less.

Hhhmmm... $150 is pretty tight.

Depending on the exchange rates you might be able to get a Steinhart in that price range.

ETA - If you were in Japan or Malaysia you'd be in automatic Seiko and Citizen heaven for $150.

My cousin is in Japan for another month. How do I see what is available in Japan for him to purchase for me?

Part 2. Anybody have any recommendations on which watch to get?

Answers will vary depending on who you ask.

For me personally, some kind of Seiko mechanical diver, of which there are tons of cool ones at different price points.  SKX, "Sumo", "Shogun", and the MarineMaster 300 are some of my favorites.  There are the 'tuna' variants as well.
