Is this the church of feel-goodism?
It is impossible to be both a Christian and a Muslim. |
She is Christian and not Muslim. T |

(Most)Episcopals dont care about doing thing right or wrong. They do what they want.
Female pastors, gay pators, etc. Its about them not the Word. A few Episcopal Churches are holding out, they are having them (the churches) taken away. This does not surprise me one bit. |
I read plenty of books in my childhood talking about how this was going to happen eventually...Those books were written in the 60s and 70s.
Eventually you'll have a group of "Everybody believes the same thing" people, which is a huge issue. This group then demonizes anyone that doesn't believe like them ,and eventually are passed off as fanaticals. Eventually it works their way to the casual christian, and they then must convert or face imprisonment/death. I figure the clock is ticking. |

Exactly right. Some congregations rebelled against the liberalization of the Episcopal church, and were barred from their buildings-- buildings that they had built, paid for with collections, offerings, and fundraisers. But the title of the buildings were in the name of the Church, and there was little they could do... except move away and start over. Look up the Declaration of St. Louis; this was a layman's movement, not one of the clergy. It upheld the "old religious teachings" versus the new, "feel good" stuff (as someone else called it). What you are seeing with the Episcopal Church is a microcosm of what is happening with society today. It is being hijacked, by a loud, vocal minority... who hijacked it because it has (or had) legimitacy... instead of building their own new church, they hijacked the old one. Sounds sort of like what is happening to a lot of other institutions, doesn't it? |

this is my surprised face:
The Episcopal church is going downhill fast (not that there aren't a few holdouts, just like there are a few Bible-believing Methodist, Presbyterian, & Lutheran churches left too). In college I made the decision to transfer to a less-mainstream but actual God-fearing denomination (PCA). This thread probably belongs in the Religion forum. |

She is neither Muslum Or Christion. She is a follower of her own religion.
Well, seeing as how Muslims and Christians worship the same god anyway...
What's the problem? Oh, and I'm interested to see what happens when she makes the Hajj to Mecca. They'll kill her ass with rocks. |

Hmm let's see she doesn't believe in the basis of Christianity. So I'd say she never was one. Lucky for her it's not my place to judge. |

Ok, so now she's Jewish? |
just sounds like a mental bitch |
Words dont mean things anymore.
Thats my understanding of this. |
All she needs is the Angel Moroni to lend her a few golden tablets to really round out her belief system.
Fixed. |

Welcome to the Episcopal church- the Marketplace of Ideas.
Seriously, Rusted Ace is right. For these people, words don't hold any intrinsic meaning. She could say that she was worshiping the great blue yeti and she would mean the same thing. The words that she uses are just cultural lables that she's stuck on the top of her own make it up as you go along feelgood faith. I'd be ok with that, except that she's misrepresenting herself, my faith and Islam. Post modernists are inisideous, like a cancer in civilization. They're worse than terrorists. At least terrorists are honest enough to just kill you and tell you why. |

I think God said:
I am the LORD your God, you shall have no other gods before me. |
Who's taking odds on when her moslem 1/2 is gonna go SJS on her Christian 1/2?
Let's hope it's sooner rather than later , for the sake of the more impressionable folks she is no doubt seeking to push her bullshit to. |
"Get both" is not an option when it comes to being an adherent of faith.
Either you are a Christian or you ain't.....there's no in between. |
No, we don't. Islam rejects the divinity of Christ. That is a central pillar of Christian belief.
Indeed. |
Is this the same sect that has a Gay Bishop as well?
Guess she forgot the bit about "...you shall have no god before me" |
a lady minister.
They are a real enlightened denomination, I guess. cutting edge, avant garde. |
Uh..no we dont!!! CHristianity does NOT = Islam |
A guy I work with is a Deacon in the local Episcopal church (one of the few conservative Episcopal churches left.) He'll get a real kick out of this.
Heay let me know when it is possible to be Hindu and Cristian....... That sounds as plausible.
All she needs to do now is come out of the closet as a lesbian, and get run over by a truck and become a paraplegic, and she'll have achieved the pinnacle of fame according to the left: black, female, gay, disabled, sexually abused, Christian-Muslim. If she were from south Florida, she could ad disenfranchised as well...

AAAARGH!!!!
As a practicing conservative Episcopalian this sort of thing really perturbs me. I already changed churches 3 years ago (one episcopal church to another) because the first went gay on the conservatives crowd (new priest turned out lesbian and brought in a different crowd and ignored the needs of the long time members). My present church is great but when I have to pick and choose which church I attend because it might be gay or muslim, something is wrong. I think the episcopal church is slowly killing itself. Maybe there will be enough "new doctrine" members to sustain it, but I don't think the conservatives will be there in the next 10-20 years as the more conservative priests retire. In 20 years I can easily see myself attending the Catholic or Lutheran (WELS) church rather than having my funeral in the Episcopal church. |
No doubt, what a moonbat. |
I grew up attending a conservative Episcopalian church, I honestly didn't mind much about the gay and female priests but this is just ridiculous. Looks like allowing gay and female priests was the green light for all the weirdos. Unfortunately as another poster has said the Episcopal church has turned into a feel good religion. And as long as they keep getting collections they really don't care how much they stray from God.
Next logical step for the Episcopalian church is to stop giving Wine and start using Kool Aid. Next step for me is to find a conservative Lutheran Church, there services and beliefs are similar to the old conservative Episcopalian churches. |
She'd go over great back in Samarra...
Will the Episcopal collar match the orange jumpsuit though??? IBTL, this one has great potential for CoC violations... |
Attention whore is the only title that can accurately be described to her.
oy im so confused. can she actually articulate what she believes as a religion without breaking up laughing as she does it?
im jewish, i will always be jewish, i may not practice my faith to the level that some of the rabbis taught me in yeshiva but i will not try to have my religion bend to my wishes. it is my weakness when i do not live up to the standards not the religions. |

Boycott Big Soft Drink!
Episcopal <- switch letters around -> Pepsi Cola Coincidence? |

also: "No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other." Luke 16:13 |

Bring on the "white veal" of the catskills... |

I'm in the same boat here. My congregation left it's building and built a new one. But hell, what are we supposed to call ourselves? |
