Thank Almight God for Jupiter. If it weren't for the massive gravitational pull of that lovely gas bag we would have a closer and more frequent near misses.

A couple of good sci-fi books to read concerning this subject:
1) Lucifer's Hammer (Niven & Pournelle) - what would it be like if it actually happened? Plus lots of survivalist tips. 2) Firestar (Michael Flynn) - billionaire implements a long-term plan to prevent an asteroid strike. |

Y'all need to subscribe to more astronomical journals/publications. When I was reading Ad Astra several years ago, an article mentioned a specific asteroid threat, if I remember correctly.
If you want specific information, get industry journals. CNN doesn't tell you shit. |
