I may well be wrong, but the price sounds a little too good. In any case, I'd go to the Armalite website and check the serial number, to make sure at least the lower is really pre-ban. There's a link to their site somewhere on this one.

$1000 bucks for an Eagle? RIGHT ON! Sounds like a good deal, but yet - I'd check with Armalite to make sure this is indeed an Eagle. If it is, it's a guaranteed Pre-ban.

If it's indeed a preban, the going price for a cherry Eagle Pre-Ban is about $1000 to $1200. The $995 price isn't really out of line - depending on your circumstances.
Regardless of if this is a local sale or not, get it in writing that you want a 3 day inspection period. When you get the rifle, if you don't feel confident in your abilitites, take it to a competent gunsmith and spend 20 bucks to have him go over it with a fine tooth comb. |
