This auction is being held to benefit the fund being established for EricTheHun’s granddaughter. At auction close, payment is to be made to MrsGloftoe, and at that time I’ll ship the item to the winner (I’ll pay insured shipping).

What we have here is an original AR15.com 9/11 WTC Knife. These were custom made to be presented to some of our NY and NJ area board members who found themselves doing rescue and recovery in the middle of what was once the World Trade Center in those hours, days, and weeks after the attack. VERY few of these exist, and most are in the hands of a few heroes that received them as a token of appreciation from the owners and members of AR15.com in the months after the attack. A very few more were given away at the original Black Rifle Convention in 2002 and I believe maybe one or two others were given out here on the board. You’d have to ask Goatboy how many are out there. None were ever sold outright.

I rescued this one on eBay from a seller in Ennis, Texas about a year after the BRC. Apparently this is one of those given away in the raffle or as a door prize. It is in perfect mint condition in its original box with all the original papers. It’s a CRKT M16-14LE with laser engraving on the blade as shown.

You won’t find any of these for sale elsewhere. It’s truly a collectable and it is a piece of AR15.com history. I had to think hard before I offered it here, but I believe and hope it will generate an especially nice contribution to the fund – much more than I could contribute in cash myself. For that reason, and to honor a now silent brother, I offer it to the highest bidder. Please open your wallets and let’s help Wayne’s granddaughter!!!!

This is the official thread, so place your bids here! The auction will run until the bidding stops – probably through the coming weekend.

Just the knife by itself is worth around $50 bucks without being a special commemorative edition......so.......I'll bid first.

$50 dollars right here.
