ESPN GREAT OUTDOOR GAMES TO FEATURE OLYMPIC MEDALIST KIM RHODE IN
COMMERCIAL . . . To promote the 2002 Great Outdoor Games shooting events,
ESPN has tapped two-time Olympic medalist Kim Rhode to star in a series of
television commercials. In addition to winning a gold and bronze medal in
International Doubles Trap, 22-year old Rhode is the most decorated female
U.S. shotgun shooter in her sport. The 2002 Great Outdoor Games, which
will be held at Lake Placid, N.Y., July 11 - 14, will feature among other
outdoor sports, shotgun and rifle competitions that are developed and
managed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation. "ESPN surveys have
shown the shooting events to be extremely popular with their viewers,"
said Scott Moore, NSSF director of promotions and special events. "This
commercial, which will be shown on multiple national networks, adds
significant visibility for the shooting sports and Kim. We are extremely
pleased to be a part of this exciting national event."
