I'm looking at this Bissel Healthy Home Vacuum LINK and it is about half the price of the Dyson and looks to have the same technology as the Dyson. Is the Bissel a good sucker, or is it worth the doubled price for the Dyson?

We bought a Dyson DC-17 Animal, and it is a really good vacuum.

I don't know the specifics, but I highly doubt that the Bissel is using the SAME tech that the Dyson is using due to patent infringement.  Bissel may have developed something similar, but I have heard that Dyson protects their patents pretty aggressively, so either it is significantly different, or they are/will be paying license fees to Dyson.

Patent law is a tricky thing.

dyson all the way.  the bissel has HEPA filters that need replacing and clog up.  the dyson does not.  I know.  theres a bissel sitting in my closet that they wont take back.

Well, I bought the Dyson from Sam's Club. I got the DC14 for $399 with a whole bunch of attachments. It was way cheaper than everyone else including Costco. So far, it's great!!

Thanks!

Just got a DC17 over the weekend-that thing rocks!
Do I need to turn in my man card now?
