I think a "duty bag" is what I need for my part time law enforcement job. I've already got a seat organizer but it stays full of other patrol related junk.

Does anyone have a bag that they think is pretty decent? I need something I can carry my personal portable radio, scanner, extra batteries, and different electronic whiz-bangs in.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

A lot of the guys i work with carry Delta Tactical bags.  They are big enough to hold everything you may need and i think they are coming out with a smaller version.  Check them out at www.deltatactical.com

You might try the Tactical Bail Out Bag from LA Police Gear.  Mine has worked out pretty well and it's not very expensive.

Hatch Street pro
5.11 is nice too.

I have a fully embrodired(shield/logo) Hatch knock off from the local cop shop that was given to me as a gift.  Really nice.

The 511 I looked at looks good.

My old one (non 511) is in good shape, so I didn't buy it.

Did recently pickup a rifle bug out bag made by Hawke from One Source Tactical.  Love it.  A very unobtrusive way to carry essentials around (extra ammo, water, 1st aid, extra lights and batteries, etc.).  Just throw it over your shoulder and go.

Look into the Eagle Industries Patrolman Bag #2.  I've been using this bag for the last 4 years which sits in the front passenger seat.  It has built in pistol mag holders, SL-20 flashlight pocket, double handcuff pouch and a bunch of pockets.  Contact Eagle and they'll hook you up.

The bail out bag from LA Police gear is pretty good too but a bit on the small side.  I picked one up from the folks at CountyComm.  Its the same thing but they also have black and coyote brown.

You make no mention of the multitudes of paper work.   Are you planning on doing any work  Kidding.   Are you looking for a bag to carry forms, and gear?  Or just gear?

I still use an adidas gym bag I have had for 3 years now.  The reason being if I leave it in the truck for some reason it does not scream "POLICE".  Just a thought.

Take a look at Red Oxx Manufacturing.  Lifetime gaurantee. Rigger-built. Great bags.

Actually, I plan on doing as little as possible. Ha.  I'm looking at a bag to carry mostly gear. Some books, manuals, and other misc paperwork would also need to be carried however, I've already got a setup for that stuff. Let me know what you have in mind.

I have an old camcorder bag that has worked out great for me. Plenty of compartments to carry spare batteries, summons books, law books, etc. I use a clipboard for spare paperwork.

I use a "Uncle Mikes" patrol bag. I think it ran me $30 at local uniform shop. I always put an extra "police" light jacket and rain coat in it. Sometimes the weather changes on a dime and you didn't bring you jacket to work. Also a traffic vest is always handy. I suggest a small "first aid kit". You never know when you might cut you finger jumping over fences. A small digital camera is also a good way to go. Some agencies issue cameras, we dont. It is good to have your own pictures of a crime scene, even if Tech's take pictures.

Some powder, tape and index cards aren't a bad idea. In case you want to lift your own prints. Just some ideas..

I want to thank everyone for their input on this thread. After some shopping around, I settled on the Generation 5 Bail-Out Bag from CountyComm Government Products

At $40 it was about half of the price of other similar bags. There is a good review and a lot of pictures over at Military Morons if anyone wants to check it out.

I took a look at the Blackhawk Battle-Bag but it cost about double of what the CountyComm bag cost. I'd like to see a review of the Blackhawk Battle-Bag.

I use the regular Eagle Patrolman bag and it's great. Only two complaints: the price, and the lack of velcro loops for a baton.

I was thinking of getting one of those bail out bags, but that thing doesn't look like it would carry a quarter of my gear. Maybe I'll get one for a range bag.

Yeah the baton straps aren't adjustable on the Eagle Ind. patrolman bag.  I brought my bag in to a local uniform shop and had them stitch up the extra material so it would hold my dymond wood baton securely.

I have had the Hatch for almost a month now. LOVE IT. Its full (about 35 lbs) and not a rip or messed up seam. Good to go!
