One Hopkinsville police officer resigned and the department suspended another officer after they became intoxicated, put handcuffs on a female companion and took her for a joy ride in a police cruiser, Chief Guy Howie said.

Meyers then drove Sibal and woman approximately a half mile to the Food Lion shopping center on Canton Pike. In the parking lot, Meyers did a “burn-out,” or squealed the tires. The woman hit her head in the back of the car and subsequently walked to her father’s home. She was not injured, said Howie.
The woman’s father called the police department.

They werent on duty, they were out drinking and they and the girl somehow thought this was a good idea

The woman was voluntarily hand-cuffed and got in the police cruiser.
