Of course the government is pushing for more gun regulation, and less drug regulation.

So you're saying drugs are killing drug users? Where's the problem?

Most of the of the deaths are probably from heroin overdose from potency, and pain med abuse with alcohol. |

Many miss the big picture. Drugs overload social safety nets. Blame Wilson and Fabian socialism.

We need to expand the war on drugs to include the drug alcohol again. Be good to see drinkers getting afflicted with Jake leg and blindness from drinking screwed up alcohol produced in secrecy not to mention getting shot up in raids and sales turf wars again since so many have forgot that part of history. Based on the last go around it should make the current drug war look like a walk in the park.

Yeah, I would believe that statement.
As someone who has worked in EMS for 30 years, I can confirm that in my experience, drugs kill far more people than cars and cars kill far more people than guns. Included at no extra cost, smoking kills far more people than all of those combined. But that is just my personal experience with no numbers to back it up. Not deaths, but just EMS incidents, alcohol probably results in far more incidents I respond to than all other causes combined. I once had a student from another state do a ride along with me. After about three calls, she said to me, "I don't mean to question what you guys do, but why don't you tell the nurses in the ER that the patient's are drunk?" I said, "Because every patient we transport is drunk. During this shift, we will run around 20 calls and every one of them will be drunk. It would be more informative if we told the ER nurses if we had a patient that WASN'T drunk". At the end of the shift we did have one patient that wasn't drunk. ONE While not all of those (or even very many of them) resulted in deaths. The money spent on this is staggering. How many of those drunks do you think paid any of the bills ? |

Freedom. KCR Don't be a hater just cause you don't even have bourbon to offer. wat Not much to tobacco that has passed through a factory versus not unless the factory has adulterated it which means the non would be safer. Most of the inherent negatives seen with drugs as they exist today(other than outright overdoses which can happen with alcohol also) are the result of someone producing crap in their garage and inducing impurities out of ignorance or to increase yield. So alcohol drinkers should get their chance to get Jake leg and blindness from bad alcohol getting cranked out in the woods under cover of darkness. Be nice getting to see that group at Wal-Mart alongside the meth mouth folks. |

The usually personal insults and generalizations. Don't people realize that almost every anti-drug talking point can be applied to guns? Yeah, we have the 2A, but remember this. The 2A doesn't mention which guns you are allowed to have and which you aren't. This opens the door to all kinds of 'common sense' gun laws. Oh, and look at this lovely substance that is currently legal and even encouraged on this board. Hypocrisy much? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/kelly-fitzgerald/15-shocking-alcohol-stati_b_7010680.html 100,000 deaths related to alcohol ever year. 80,000 directly caused by excessive use. But if it has to be then alcohol should be included so that group of hypocrites gets fully slapped upside the head with the nonsense they support. |

Instead of eradicating it, we helped them expand it & they produce even more each year.... |
